Jamaican Culture and Business Celebrated Annual West Indian Independence Continue in Post COVID

Hartford – The 59th West Indian Independence Celebration Parade was held Saturday with perfect weather. Hundreds attended the annual event where area drill teams marched in competition for the glory of the award. If you want to taste the best area Island foods, the festivities were the best place to be to get the most awesome Caribbean foods around. Jerk Chicken Patties to name a few. Local businesses won the day with a great boost to year of lost or reduce sales. Well all vendors did very well as parade attendees purchased many of the goods offered. The event started from the Yard Goats Stadium and made way to Bushnell Park. Later in the evening guest were treated to big reggae stars as, Freddie McGregor, Kerwin Du Bois, Don Minot Jubilee, Kashu, JBanks, Dajah, and Dadre. All went well.
