News 8 news director Chuck Carter was inducted by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences into the prestigious Silver Circle. Honorees have served in television for more than 25 years and have contributed greatly to the community. Chuck has been working in TV news since the 1980s.
Carter grew up in Harlem and after college worked at television stations all across the country. He has worked at Channel 8 four different times, and came back four years ago to take over as news director. Carter oversees Channel 8’s statewide operation including their newsrooms in Hartford and New Haven.
Several members of the News 8 team were on hand for the induction ceremony in Quincy, Massachusetts, including Hartford resident and WTNH anchor Dennis House.
